Pl!nk! Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Pl!nk!, the app published by Labuk Games on Google Play as com.labuk.plinki, collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the Pl!nk! mobile app and related services. It is intended to provide clear information for users of the app distributed through Google Play and other app stores.

Pl!nk! is a social question-and-answer app where users can answer a daily prompt, view community responses, optionally choose a username, and share generated images of answers through their device's native sharing options.

Your use of Pl!nk! is also governed by the Pl!nk! Terms and Conditions, which explain the rules of the service and the permission you give us over the answers you write.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only the information needed to provide and improve Pl!nk!. Depending on how you use the app, this may include:

  • Account and profile data: a Firebase authentication identifier, anonymous account status, optional username, optional email address, and account creation or upgrade timestamps.
  • User content: answers you submit to daily questions and related metadata such as the date, question ID, and creation or update timestamps.
  • Community display data: your chosen username, or an anonymous presentation format where applicable, together with content you post in the app.
  • Analytics data: interaction events such as app screens viewed, answers submitted or edited, answers shared, onboarding completion, notification preference changes, language changes, and similar usage events collected through Firebase Analytics.
  • Device and technical information: general device, operating system, app version, locale, and similar technical data made available by the platform or analytics provider for performance and service improvement purposes.
  • Advertising data: when you choose to watch a rewarded ad, the Google AdMob SDK processes device identifiers such as your advertising ID, your IP address and the approximate location derived from it, and events about the ad you were shown, in order to deliver, cap, measure and protect the ads against fraud.
  • Consent choices: the answer you give to the privacy message about ads and analytics, stored on your device by the Google User Messaging Platform so that we do not ask you again.
  • Reports you send: when you report an answer we store the identifier of your account, the identifier of the reported answer and of the person who wrote it, the question group, a copy of the reported text, the reason you chose (spam, hate, sexual content, personal data, impersonation or other), an optional comment of up to 500 characters, and the date. We keep a copy of the text so that our team can review the report even if the answer is deleted afterwards. Reports cannot be read or deleted from the app by anyone, including the person who sent them.
  • Blocked accounts and hidden answers: the list of accounts you have blocked and the answers you reported and no longer want to see. Both are private to you, and nobody is told that you blocked them.
  • Premium plan and codes: your own invite code, who invited you and how many people have redeemed your code; each code you redeem, with the date and the days it granted; and your plan, meaning whether it is premium, where it came from and when it expires.
  • Notification settings: whether you enable daily reminders and the time preference selected for local notifications.
  • Locally stored preferences: app settings stored on your device, such as language, theme, notification preferences and similar configuration data.
  • A local copy of your profile: your identifier, username, whether the account is anonymous, and the date it was created, kept on your device so the app starts faster. It does not include your email address.

Redeeming an invite code records the link between the two accounts, so that the days can be granted and the invitations counted. Neither account can see the other's data in the app.

We do not ask for payment card information in Pl!nk!, and we do not sell your personal information.

3. How We Collect Information

We collect information in the following ways:

  • Directly from you when you create or upgrade an account.
  • Directly from you when you submit answers, choose a username, report an answer, block an account, redeem a code, or contact us.
  • Automatically through the technologies that support the app, including Firebase Authentication, Firestore, and Firebase Analytics.
  • From your device when you enable notifications or use the operating system share sheet to share generated content.
  • Through the Google AdMob SDK when you watch a rewarded ad, and through the Google User Messaging Platform when the privacy message asks for your choices.

4. How We Use Information

We use information collected through Pl!nk! to:

  • Create and maintain anonymous or registered user sessions.
  • Save and display your answers and community content inside the app.
  • Show your chosen username where community features require it.
  • Enable account upgrades from anonymous to registered accounts.
  • Schedule local reminder notifications if you choose to enable them.
  • Generate shareable images on your device when you use the share feature.
  • Measure usage trends, understand feature adoption, and improve app quality, onboarding, stability, and user experience.
  • Promote Pl!nk! by publishing selected answers, without usernames or other identifying details, on Pl!nk!'s own social media channels.
  • Show rewarded ads when you choose to watch one to unlock an extra answer, and fund the app with them.
  • Review the reports we receive, keep the community safe, and comply with Google Play's policy on user-generated content.
  • Hide the answers you reported and the answers of the accounts you blocked.
  • Grant and keep track of the premium days that invite and campaign codes give, and detect abuse of them.
  • Record and apply your consent choices for advertising and analytics.
  • Protect the app, enforce our policies, and comply with legal obligations.

5. Legal Bases for Processing

Where applicable under data protection law, we process personal information on the basis of one or more of the following: performance of our contract with you to provide the app, your consent where required, our legitimate interests in operating and improving Pl!nk!, and compliance with legal obligations.

In the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom we rely on your consent for advertising and analytics identifiers, collected through the privacy message described in the Advertising and Consent section below. You can change that decision at any time.

6. Sharing of Information

We do not sell personal information. We may share information only in the limited situations described below:

  • Service providers and infrastructure partners: we use Google Firebase services, including Authentication, Firestore, and Analytics, to operate the app.
  • Other users of the app: answers you post and your display name or anonymous label may be visible to other authenticated users as part of Pl!nk!'s community features.
  • Sharing initiated by you: when you use the share feature, the generated image is shared through your device's operating system and the third-party app or service you choose. Their privacy practices apply once the content is shared outside Pl!nk!.
  • Advertising partner: Google AdMob, and the Google User Messaging Platform that asks for your consent. For the advertising data described above, Google acts as an independent controller under its own privacy policy.
  • Promotional publication: we may publish selected answers on Pl!nk!'s own social media channels, such as TikTok, Instagram and YouTube. We publish them anonymously: we do not include your username, email or any other detail that identifies you. Once published on those platforms, their own privacy practices apply to the post.
  • Legal and safety reasons: where necessary to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, protect users, enforce our terms, or defend rights and property.

7. Advertising and Consent

Pl!nk! is free and is funded by advertising. The only ads in the app are rewarded ads served by Google AdMob: they appear when you choose to watch one in order to unlock an extra answer. There are no banners or ads that interrupt you, and nothing is shown unless you ask for it.

We always request non-personalised ads. We do not use your answers, your profile or your activity in Pl!nk! to target advertising, and we do not sell your personal information. Even so, non-personalised ads still rely on device identifiers such as your advertising ID and your IP address, which Google uses to cap how often an ad is shown, to measure it and to prevent fraud.

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, a privacy message certified by Google appears before any ad is requested and before analytics data is collected, asking for your choices. Until you answer it, no ad is requested. Analytics starts with consent denied and only collects what you allow. You can reopen the message and change your decision at any time from Profile → Privacy options in the app.

You can also reset or delete your advertising ID from your device's settings, which prevents it from being linked to earlier activity. To understand what Google does with this data, see the Google Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

Pl!nk! is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly show ads to them.

8. Google Play and App Permissions

Pl!nk! is designed to minimize data collection. If the app asks for permissions, they are used only to support app functionality. For example, notification permissions are used to send local daily reminders only if you enable them.

The app may also rely on standard platform capabilities for network access, authentication, app analytics, advertising, and native sharing flows. We do not use these capabilities to sell data or to build advertising profiles for third parties.

9. Data Retention

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including to operate the app, maintain community content, improve the service, and comply with legal obligations.

  • Registered accounts: your profile and your content are kept while the account exists, until you delete it.
  • Anonymous accounts: an anonymous account has no email address and no password, so once it stops being used nobody can get back into it, for example after uninstalling the app or signing in to another account. An anonymous account that goes 90 days without being opened is deleted automatically, together with everything it holds: its answers, the reactions they received, its profile, its username, which becomes available to other people again, its codes and its plan. Registering with an email address is what keeps your account and your content.
  • Answers and related community content may remain available while required for the in-app experience unless deleted or removed.
  • Analytics data may be retained according to Firebase Analytics retention settings and aggregated reporting practices.
  • Reports are kept separately from the accounts involved, because they are the record of a safety decision: they are not deleted when the account that sent the report or the account that was reported is deleted. We keep each report for 12 months from the date it was sent, after which it is deleted automatically.
  • Blocked accounts, hidden answers, redeemed codes and your plan are deleted together with your account. The invite code of a deleted account stops working.
  • Preferences and the copy of your profile stored on your device remain until you change them, clear app data, or uninstall the app.

10. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information processed through Pl!nk!, including authentication controls, database security rules, and Firebase App Check with Play Integrity, which asks Google Play services to confirm that requests come from a genuine installation of the app rather than from a script. However, no system can guarantee absolute security, and you should avoid posting sensitive personal information in answers or shared content.

11. International Data Transfers

The services we use, including Firebase, may process or store data on servers located outside your country of residence. By using Pl!nk!, you understand that information may be transferred to and processed in countries with data protection laws that differ from those in your jurisdiction.

12. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You may also have the right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

You can also manage some privacy choices directly in the app or on your device, such as disabling notifications, changing app preferences, or choosing not to provide optional profile fields like an email address.

13. Children's Privacy

Pl!nk! is not intended for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from people below that age. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the app, legal requirements, or our data practices. When we do, we will update the effective date shown below.
